I’m an information seeker and technology explorer passionate about critical education policy, civic engagement, and student-centered learning. My professional interests include working with and for marginalized communities by combining advocacy with research to increase access, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
In Fall 2019, I began a Doctor of Philosophy program in Higher Education at the University of Denver. My current research focus includes: open education resources, pedagogy, and practices as well as postsecondary access and social mobility — specifically regarding first-generation, rural students. As an avid reader, and former public librarian, I enjoy meeting all my favorite authors while attending conferences around the country.
In my free time I listen to comedy memoir audiobooks, subscribe to too many pop culture podcasts, attempt to be good at yoga, and binge-watch TV series like Parks and Recreation, Friday Night Lights, and Game of Thrones.
I also enjoy sharing thoughts and ideas with my virtual communities:
